Moneyball

Moneyball: The art of winning an unfair Thurs (ISBN 0-393-05765-8) is a book by Michael Lewis, published in 2003, the baseball team and the Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane. Its objective is the modernization of equipment, analytical approach to mount sabermetric baseball team competition, despite the poor income situation in Oakland. A movie based on the book starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill opened on September 23, 2011 central premise of Moneyball granted is that the collective wisdom of baseball insiders (including players, managers, coaches, scouts and office) for the past century is subjective and often flawed. Statistics such as stolen bases, RBI and batting average, usually used to evaluate the players, are relics of the 19th century view of the game and the statistics that were available at that time.

The book argues that the office of the Oakland A has benefited from several empirical indicators of the performance of players on a team that can compete successfully against the rich competitors in the Major League Baseball.
