Dolphin Tale is a 2011 comedy film directed by Charles Martin Smith, from a screenplay by Karen Janszen and Noam Dromi starring Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. The film is inspired by the true story of the bottlenose dolphin named Winter, who was rescued off the coast of Florida and take on the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
A young boy, Sawyer Nelson (Nathan Gamble), becomes friends with the winter, a dolphin beak injured who lost its tail due to being caught in a crab trap in Indian River in Fort Pierce Florida. It motivates everyone around him to help save the dolphins by creating an appendix of prosthesis to replace the dolphin's tail missing. Harry Connick Jr. plays a vet who saves mammals and leads to the Navy hospital, he runs. Ashley Judd plays the boy's mother, while Morgan Freeman is a doctor who creates prostheses for the winter.
