Vincent Paul Young, Jr. (born May 18, 1983), nicknamed "VY", is an American football quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans. Young was the third option in the 2006 draft in the NFL. He played college football at the University of Texas. In his rookie season, Young was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the team record in the AFC Pro Bowl. In 2009, Young won his second Pro Bowl selection and was named Sporting News Player with NFL Spirit of the year.
In his third year in college, a young Reggie Bush finished second in voting for the Heisman Trophy, an honor later vacated. Davey O'Brien won the award is presented annually to the best rooms of the nation's colleges. Following the Heisman voting, Young led his team to a BCS National Championship against the defending BCS national champion University of Southern California in the Rose Bowl in 2006. The game was one of the most anticipated games in the history of college football. Texas jersey retired young, August 30, 2008.
