Oakland and Cincinnati are on the verge of completing one of the NFL's biggest trade-deadline deals in decades, with the Raiders acquiring holdout quarterback Carson Palmerfrom the Bengals in exchange for two first-round picks, according to sources familiar with the deal.
The first first-round pick is in 2012 and the other is a conditional first-round pick in 2013. Palmer was in the Bay Area on Tuesday morning getting a physical before the deal could be completed.
According to a source, if the Raiders win a playoff game in the 2011 season, the Bengals would get a first-round draft pick in 2013. If the Raiders don't win a playoff game in the 2011 season then the Bengals would receive a second-round pick in 2013. - ESPN
I could have no vested interest what two average AFC teams do. But it seems great for Cinci's future (Trent Richardson anyone?) and also shows that the Raiders and willing to be competitive this season. They are also two teams probably competing for a wild card spot with each other so it is a slippery slope.
I hope one side gets screwed. Like Either Carson has career resurgence or that first round pick is an immediate impact player.
I know one guy who wants this deal to fall through. The guy who has been tailgating all fall.
And here are random pics of his wife for good measure
