I'm not even gonna get into the 'economy' and the jobs situation in regards to this. Even if the economy WASN'T a factor, I'm trying to figure out what would possess homie to do that. Did he have history with the address/the owner in past deliveries?
Was he covering for someone else?

The camera doesn't 'lie' but unless you have a FULL CHAIN OF EVENTS, the camera can be make one look pretty foolish with proper editing/lack of additional footage..
